I’m usually that person, lol! 😁
How to do it well
If you choose to advertise on podcasts, here is how to do it well:
1/ only do host-read ads (they are more authentic and resonate better)
2/ ask the podcaster to craft the ad in their own words (can provide talking points)
3/ have the podcaster record the ad, listen to it, and provide suggestions if needed
4/ sponsor multiple podcasts – this exposes your brand to a more diverse audience
5/ make sure your ad appears on the podcasts you want (if using a big ad network with programmatic advertising, your ads can land up on media that is being served to bots) 😧
6/ provide podcasters with unique UTM links for tracking. (Or have a question on your website that asks, ‘How did you hear about us?’ and have ‘Podcasts’ as a choice)
7/ provide a powerful CTA (and tracking url) the podcaster can insert into the show description
Your podcast advertising efforts will be much more impactful if you do this. 👊

My neighbor - “Eric, I’ve never seen you so happy”
Me - “In Texas we don’t have snow. So if there is an opportunity for a snowball fight, it’s on!”
One of the perks living here in Romania is getting pegged with snowballs by my kids 😃
Have a great weekend!
