Biodegradable innovation startup Lamon is fighting plastic with Angela Ivanova
and fun facts about my childhood
Hello from the Texan in Bucharest, Romania.
In this issue: hilarious tweet, biodegradable packaging startup Lamon, my childhood, and more!
My childhood
Earlier this week I shared some fun facts in a post about my childhood. If you don’t know, I grew up in Houston, TX. As a kid we didn’t eat a lot of exotic foods like fish or McDonald’s because those things were considered a treat. We ate potatoes, fideua (without the seafood), PB&J and bologa sandwiches, macroni & cheese, and drank Kool-id from water that came from the kitchen sink.
My brother and I would mow the lawn, pull weeds, trim bushes, and did chores every weekend. We didn’t get an allowance. These things were expected of us.
We rode our bikes, played hide-in-go-seek with the kids in the neighborhood, catched crawfish, shot our bb guns, and played outside all day. We told our parents where we were going and who we were going with. And when we were thirsty, we drank tap water from the hose outside. Bottle water? That was unheard of. 😆
We watched shows like the Rifleman, Gilligan’s Island, Leave it to Beaver, He-Man and Saved by the Bell. At school we never disrespected our teachers and were taught to treat others with respect. We were taught to hold doors, carry groceries, and give up our seat for an older person without being asked.
As I see my kids getting older, I reminisce on my childhood and want to instill the same kind of adventure and principals in them. 😄
Innovators Can Laugh
It’s an innovative way to stop polluting the environment.
It looks and feels the same as today’s laminating films.
But what makes it stand out is that it’s biodegradable. 🌏
💰 Projected revenue in 2023 ~ €5 MIL
In this episode of ICL, meet Angela Ivanova. When she learned at just how much plastic is being used in everyday business, she began looking at alternatives. What if we changed the composting properties of film and glue?
So that’s how the idea began of shaking up the plastic industry with her biodegradable packaging startup Lamon.

The End
Boy, what a busy week!
My kids are having their Christmas parties at school, at OptiMonk we had a 4-hour online personalization workshop for VIPs, two podcast recordings for ICL, and 2023 planning both for professional and personal life.
Oh, and I’m launching a few digital products on Etsy based on kids tennis workouts I do with my kids. (more to come on that)
Hope you are doing well and if you want to chat, send me an email at eric@innovatorscanlaugh.com. Would love to hear from you!
Have a great weekend!
