💰 From waiting tables to making six figures
Plus, struggling with following up? Here’s what to do
Hello from your friend in Bucharest, Romania.
In this issue: Innovators can laugh with Mihai Darzan, from waiting tables to six figures, and how to follow up with people.
Innovators Can Laugh
Mihai Darzan has got a lot on his plate having to manage two different companies plus a family. He is the founder of Procesio, a visual development environment in the cloud AND is the CEO of another successful company here in Bucharest.
In this interview we get into discussions about productivity, sales, and having to pivot multiple times in order to find the right path. I enjoyed his thoughts on deep work, getting two different groups to work together, and his overall passion for learning (like the sales training and experience he had with Matt Wolach).

Nice work
Struggling with Following Up?
Struggling with following up?
Here is a free tip that will help you fix that. 👇
1/ within 24 hours of meeting someone at an event, you should send a LinkedIn connection request.
Tip: connect with them while chatting with them at the event by sharing your LinkedIn QR code.
2/ within 48 hours, you want to send a note expressing how you enjoyed meeting them. This should be short and reference something about what you and him/her discussed.
3/ after you send your first message, you want to store your contact’s information in Trello, Notion or some other kind of CRM. (both have free versions). In addition to basic information like name, email, title, company website, LinkedIn profile, there are two other key elements you should add: details what you talked about when you last spoke and a checklist

From waiting tables to six-figures
Years ago after University, I couldn’t find a job in marketing.
So, I followed my dream and moved to NYC
Without a job.
No one would hire me so I had to wait tables while taking on an unpaid internship.
At the age of 28.
A year later, I took a chance and wrote a letter to the president of a small digital shop in SoHo.
Appreciating my approach, he agreed to meet with me and offered me an entry level job.
5 years later I was making six figures, managing teams and million dollar budgets for large brands back in Texas.
In this conversation, I share my life journey including how I ended up in Romania.
Let me know what you think!
The End
It’s been a busy week as my daughter had minor surgery. She’s good but has been home all week (and last). Still, I’ve been able to onboard two new b2b podcasters who have joined the network, go see the eye doctor, and get another campaign running for a sponsor. 😃
Have a great weekend!
