If you don’t know Adela Barbulescu (@LinkedIn), then you are missing out because she is one of the most warm-hearted and fascinating people I know.
We got to sit down on Innovators Can Laugh and talk about orchestrating your life, academia, and her startup, Emoface, that is focused on using technology and interactive avatars to improve the quality of life for people on the autistic spectrum.
Adela shared what it was like growing up in a small town, her professional journey, and what the process has been like launching a startup in France. She also talks about what many people get wrong about autism and its origins. I was shocked to hear that some researchers said it was the fault of the mothers that kids get autism because they were too cold or the moms didn’t show enough affection when they were babies!
