How to transform any surface into Carbon neutral white board paints with Yasen Rusev
and my unfortunate incident in Hungary
Hello from your friend in Bucharest, Romania.
In this issue: updates from the ICL community, Escreo founder Yasen Rusev, my trip to Debrecen, Hungary, and more!
From the ICL Community

Innovators Can Laugh
Imagine you’re working as a driver in Bulgaria and one of your clients is an international business owner. After four days of chauffeuring him around, he invites you to lunch. After two hours of dialogue, he invites you to come to Vienna for a year and learn their business. So, you could come back to Bulgaria and open and manage their business in Bulgaria.
Sounds like a fairy tale right?
Well, it’s not. At least not for Yasen Rusev, co-founder of Escreo. In this conversation, Yasen takes us through his remarkable journey of entrepreneurship, from working as a driver, to participating in accelerators in Silicon Valley, to co-founding a dynamic company that can transform any surface in the world into Carbon neutral white board paints.
Join us in this conversation with Yasen who takes us through his journey and aspirations of trying to make the world a better place. Listen on Apple, Spotify, or another browser.

New Podcast Recording Studio (kind of)
Last week I visited the OptiMonk team in Debrecen, Hungary. When I got off the train in Debrecen, I got into a cab and then I realized, I forgot my luggage on the train! 😬
Luckily customer service was able to call the conductor who found it for me. So, other than having to get on another train and go pick it up in the next town and missing a couple of meetings, the trip was fantastic.
Above is a pic of me in the company’s recording studio. So much nicer than my ‘studio’ in my apartment!
The End
It was a busy week filled with trains, planes and automobiles. But happy to be back with the kiddos in Bucharest. The people in Debrecen told me the city is similar to Oradea, Romania (absent the mountains and river). I guess I’ll have to wait and see : )
I’ve also been experimenting with automating processes around my podcast production system. Switching to Google forms so they sync with Google sheets, assigning more tasks to my VA, and playing with tools like TextExpander that allow me to easily paste snippets of text I use periodically. If I can fine tune this and get the automation working, then I will try releasing two podcasts every week instead of one next season.
Alrighty, have a great weekend and let’s get at it!
