The Unconventional Way to Monetize Your Podcast
My approach to monetizing your podcast is different than most. Not only have I made my podcast a sponsored show, but I've also helped several other b2b podcasters generate their first paid sponsorship.

Who did it?
😄
Podcast “Listens” vs “Downloads”. Which one is better?
Podcast “Listens” vs “Downloads”
🤔 What’s the difference and is one more important than the other?
Downloads occur when someone clicks on the download button for a podcast episode. Or, when the app they listen to automatically downloads an episode. (It’s estimated that around 13% of podcast downloads are never listened to.)
Listens refer to the number of people who have listened to at least a portion of an episode.
▶ Which metric is more important?
Well they both offer a comprehensive view of a podcast’s performance. For example, a podcast might have high download numbers but fewer unique listeners. This suggest that many people are sampling but not staying. Conversely, a podcast with lower downloads, but high listens, could indicate a smaller yet highly engaged audience.
If you’re going for maximum reach, downloads should be the focus.
If you desire to cater to a niche audience, listens is more relevant.

The End
Ah yea…..love me some good naan!
So happy that the kids are FINALLY back in school. I still can’t believe they got 7 days off for Easter (back in the States I only got 2 days off for Easter and I went to Catholic school!).
This week I began recording videos around podcast advertising for a new YouTube channel I plan to launch and started exploring different CRMs I will use for B2BPodPros. More to come on this!
Have a great weekend!
