A common mistake when I hear podcasts
A common mistake I find when I hear podcasts:
“Now time for a quick commercial break”
This is a common saying hosts use when they’re about to read an ad script mid-way through the podcast episode.
But this makes the ad underperform. 📉
You should never indicate that listeners are about to hear a commercial. It’s like telling the person, “hey, what you’re about to hear is not part of the discussion” which signals to the listener that they can ‘tune out’. Or worse, they can skip the ad.
Instead, a better way to transition into an ad is to say:
“We’ll be right back”
Or “Alright, a quick break everyone.”
Or “Hey there, it’s [name of host] and I need to tell you about…”
These transitions are more fluid and make the ad feel more natural and seamless. 👊
The End
As I’m getting older, I’m thinking more and more about my health. This year I paid a visit to a cardiologist to get my heart checked out (all good there), visited a dermatologist, and have a colonoscopy scheduled. (yay)
And recently I began 36-hour fasting once a week. Aside from the weight lost, there’s a lot of other benefits. Not to mention, I work out 6x a week (weights 3x, run 1x, hiit workout 2x).
So do I have a goal? Not really. This is more of a lifestyle. But I do want to be able to not just keep up, but stay ahead of my kids. 😃
Oh, and here is something cool I recently read - “The highest ROI $100 you can spend on your health”.
Have a great weekend,
Eric M.
