Virgil Stanescu (@LinkedIn) didn’t begin playing organized basketball until he was 17, and by the age of 19, he was on the Romanian national team. Invited to play for the University of South Alabama, and with the thought of sandy beaches just a few miles down the road, Virgil packed up and headed for the States. From there his journey of playing professional basketball brought him to many different countries including Germany, Russia, Italy, Turkey and Belgium. (Turkey has the best food in his opinion)
Having transitioned into the role of father and corporate executive where he helps develop and strengthen relationships with CEOs across many different industries for CEO clubs international, Virgil shares why he believes sports is a pillar of success, why athletes can make a difference, and of course only some things that this show can reveal in a fun way like the culture shocks he experienced when moving to America.
